Outside the Box: A Live Show about Death

I’m greatly looking forward to seeing ‘Outside the Box:  A live show about death’.

‘This taboo-busting show combines mercurial tales and miraculous truths with a hint of history and some pithy commentary on the funeral industry (from one who knows.) Be a part of an ever-evolving show that meets new audiences, starts new conversations and collects new stories as we tour.

‘Talking about sex doesn’t make you pregnant, talking about death doesn’t make you die.’

The show is a solo performance by Liz Rothschild.  She trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and with Dario Fo, Agosto Boal and others.  She’s also a celebrant and runs a non-profit natural burial ground at Westmill, Wiltshire, which Annie and Cath visited last year and posted about here.  It got the 2016 Good Funeral award for Cemetery of the Year.  Liz is also a mover and shaker in various other great projects.

Her narrative fluidly blended hard-hitting facts – 70% of us in the UK die without a will – with tender, heart-breaking experience and death bed humour.  I thoroughly enjoyed this show. It was both thought-provoking and very funny, achieving the perfect balance between performance and education. …..Although the performance was gently delivered, its impact was intense.’  (Zelah Senior, Brighton Review).

Show dates coming up include Edinburgh Festival in August, Oxford’s ‘Kicking the Bucket’ festival 24th October and Stroud Lansdown Hall on Weds 19th October.   http://www.fullcircleproductions.org.uk/theatre/
